Bet you never thought you’d see recent, internationally acclaimed films that are Milwaukee-area premieres in a Mequon theater!
Tonight marks the first feature of “Monday Night at the Movies with Milwaukee Film,” a remarkable six-week series that brings to Mequon superb films that would otherwise bypass this market. Thanks to Milwaukee Film and Marcus Theaters, the Marcus North Shore Theater – a Cineplex that rarely shows any film that doesn’t feature Drew Barrymore, Adam Sandler or a superhero in tights – will now bring the area a real taste of what’s happening in the wide world of fine films.
Tonight features Arnaud Desplechin’s A Christmas Tale, a bold, black comedy that was a favorite selection on most legitimate critics’ 2008 top-ten lists. Other films coming our way include Revanche, the 2009 Oscar Nominee for Best Foreign Language Film and Anvil! The Story of Anvil, a Sacha Gervasi mock rockumentary with Robb Reiner.
The films run on Monday nights through April 27 – admission for each film is $10. Tickets are available at www.marcustheatres.com or at the North Shore Cinema box office at 11700 N. Port Washington Rd. Take advantage of this rare cinematic opportunity while you can!
