The long-suffering editor of The Mequon News, Doc Benson, was voted Editor of the Year today by The Mequon News. The renowned news organization cited his dedication, endurance, tolerance, patience and tepid support of local and international charities.

Benson, who has edited the news site since its inception, has presided over a period of exponential growth in readership. He has been a pioneer in implementing social interactivity into the website and has introduced many popular features, like the revealing “Mequon Confessions” series. “People should know the intimate secrets of their neighbors,” Benson has said. “The more shameful and private, the more riveting!”

On a personal side, Benson has made no secret of his love of giving to worthy causes, as evidenced by a large collection of photos showing him handing over spare change to countless charities.

Benson will receive his award, a handsome rice paper certificate, at TMN’s 1st Annual “Keep It in Your Pants” Party on February 13.
